Bruce Harris is an accomplished musician who remains deeply committed to sharing his extensive knowledge of the language and culture of Black music by prioritizing educational opportunities for future generations.

An educator for nearly twenty years, Bruce has been a teaching artist, clinician, and lecturer at prestigious institutions like the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, as well as at workshops and festivals worldwide. Currently, he is a trumpet instructor at the New School University and maintains his own private trumpet studio.

Whether teaching in a masterclass or individual context, Bruce’s educational style emphasizes a deep understanding of not just the musical masters, but also the history that contextualizes the music. His full-perspective approach ensures that students are immersed in the real thing and are given the tools to be thoughtful musicians and music appreciators for a lifetime.
